The risk factors for suicide ideation -- The protective factors against suicide death -- Addressing the paradox of suicide vulnerability and resiliency |
Summary |
"This book is a collection of narratives about human survival. It tells the stories of individuals who have experienced suicide ideation and how they have managed to stay alive. Because this book is about endurance, it is also about courage and hope. These individuals have shown that they have the courage to hope for the promise of a new day. In sharing their experiences with me, they are communicating their particular vulnerabilities to suicide ideation and their specific resiliencies to suicide death. In this way, they are addressing the risk factors of suicide ideation while also expressing the protective factors that prevent suicide death. While this book focuses on Asian American college students, it is not just for Asian Americans or college students. It is for all of us who identify with stories of human vulnerability and resiliency"-- Provided by publisher |
