"The Financial Services Reform Act 2001 (FSRA) was the culmination of a comprehensive reform project that was looking at the regulatory requirements applying to the financial services industry. It amended the Corporations Act 2001 and is contained in Chapter 7 of that Act...The Corporations Act provides that the Governor-General may make regulations prescribing matters required or permitted by the Act to be specified in regulations...The corporations amendment regulations under consideration by this Committee are the latest batches of regulations to be made and are intended 'to support the reforms to the regulation of the financial services industry which were implemented in the FSRA and associated legislation.'" -- p.
