Contents Part one: A published picture story book Èddie's fantastic fortnight'-- Part two: Exegesis
Summary This study explores visual narratives in children's picture story books in two parts. The first consists of the authorship and illustration of the picture story book "Eddie's Fantastic Fortnight." This in turn informs an exegesis which embraces a series of interviews with prominent Australian authors/illustrators. The artists identify the structural concerns of developing characters whose actions are located within the contexts of place and time. The interrelationship between the illustrators role as bookmaker and expresser is found to be pivotal to the visual narrative
