The natural distribution of 511 currently-described species and intraspecific taxa of Eucalyptus, plus 39 others not yet described, are indicated on individual maps of Australia by means of shaded cells in a superimposed grid. The size of each grid cell is 1 deg latitude x 1 1/2 deg longitude, about 136 km x 115 km. The maps are based on the recorded locations of all specimens of the genus in Australian herbaria and two herbaria in Great Britain. The method by which the maps were produced is outlined
