Reports of the economic impact of federal pandemic aid programs are clearly demonstrating their success in lifting millions of U.S. citizens out of poverty and providing stability in housing, food, and healthcare over the last year. Yet these programs are soon set to lapse without having been fully disbursed, even as the Delta variant and an upsurge in COVID-19 cases threaten to plunge the global economy just as recovery seemed to be on the horizon. This case asks students to examine these programs' effectiveness and to discuss what the consequences might be if they are allowed to expire
