Summary *Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers are advised that the following program may contain images and voices of people who have died*It's a dark time for the New Horizons program. The activities, including playing on the outside, have been cancelled and they've been forced to forfeit two matches. At the 11th hour the prison grants a reprieve and the team are allowed to continue playing football. But there are restrictive new rules in place and resentment against the authorities grows. Through hard work and some kind of miracle, the Swans make the finals. They fight against all odds, as a physically and morally depleted team. But in the end it's not enough and they slip out of the race to the grand final. Later, at the Swans team medal presentations, each of the characters reflects on their journey. An epilogue reveals where some players are now, released from prison and making a real go at life on the outside thanks in part to the New Horizons program. One player will be honoured with a prestigious football award that reflects the team's effort to strive for success in spite of everything they faced this season.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Series producer Veronica Fury, series writer, director and producer Kelrick Martin.
