Summary In 2019, most U.S. universities aimed to attract international talents to their graduate programs to increase the diversity of their students' body and diversify their revenue stream. Employability of their graduates was also an important factor for universities' ranking and competitiveness. However, expectations of graduate international students and their targeted employers as two major stakeholders of universities' graduate programs did not always match: international students wanted engagement with the U.S. companies to increase their employability, while employers preferred local students. Alix, an international graduate student alumna, and the faculty director of a graduate program in the United States saw this gap as presenting an interesting challenge to investigate whether and how it would be possible to bring together the expectations, resources and boundaries of U.S. companies and international students, and, hopefully, find a solution that would allow universities to increase their "employability" matrix and gain competitive advantage in the market for international students interested in a graduate degree
