Summary |
HIV prevention, like many other areas of work, has its own set of technical terms and commonly-used ways of describing things. So when I began PhD research into the rhetoric and the practice of HIV prevention in Myanmar, I needed to find some way of letting people talk about HIV prevention, without simply reverting to the use of these technical terms and descriptions. So I developed a new data collection method: the development and exploration of metaphors for HIV prevention. This case study reflects on the process, the outcomes, and the challenges of this new method |
