Cashin has been posted away from the world of Homicide, to the coast where he grew up. Then Charles Bourgoyne is bashed and left for dead, and three boys from the nearby Aboriginal community are under suspicion. Cashin is not convinced of this. Tragedy upon tragedy unfolds and Cashin finds himself holding onto something that might be better let go.
