Summary This program looks at three body systems, circulatory, respiratory and urinary, which play a vital role in ensuring that each human cell receives raw materials for energy, and that waste is removed. It emphasis that any substance, harmless or otherwise, will reach each cell once it has entered the circulatory system, as in the case of cigarettes and alcohol.Vital Systems is a six part series which looks at the major systems of the human body. These include the muscular, skeletal, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, urinary and immune systems. Through the use of clinical images, graphic illustrations and interviews, the programs provide students with an understanding of how these systems work together in sustaining the millions of cells that make up the human body.**Please note that this program/series has been created from masters kindly provided by DECS Tape Services in South Australia. These recordings have been collected over a period dating back to the early 1990s and as such, the picture quality may be of variable standard.**
