Summary "At the PM's request the Italian Parliament has just passed a bill granting immunity from prosecution to Berlusconi and other top officials -- a move that's outraged his opponents. All this is fertile material for the charismatic Beppi Grillo who styles himself as an anti-politician. From his villa near Genoa, Grillo has launched a movement known as V Day. The V standing for "Vaffanculo", meaning "fxxx off" in Italian. He's attracted huge crowds at rallies across the country and uses the internet to rail against the failures of government. Grillo's goal is to demolish the credibility of Italy's political caste. He claims that among the MP's elected in April are 70 people convicted of criminal offences. Mark Corcoran meets one of them. Senator Giampiero Cantoni, an old friend of Prime Minister Berlusconi who acknowledges a conviction for corruption dating back to the early 90s when he ran one of Italy's top banks. Cantoni insists he was the victim of politics - and copped the verdict and a hefty fine -- rather than go through the stress of an appeal. Cantoni say Grillo is entertaining, but politically irrelevant. "-- website
