Summary This case explores the unique healthcare services provided by startup Helium Health and how the company has positioned itself to tackle various country-context glitches and infrastructure challenges. Helium Health has created a revolution in the African market by launching smart software that can monitor a patient's intake as well as store a database of patient profiles, medical histories, and treatment timelines. In 2016, Helium Health (initially known as OneMedical) was founded by CEO Adegoke Olubusi along with co-founders Dimeji Sofowara and Tito Ovia to facilitate better healthcare service in Nigeria and developing areas of Africa. With the growing importance of smart healthcare services, there lie underlying issues regarding the geographic dispersion and networking the service groups under one umbrella. Helium has the aim of tackling three core problems in the African healthcare sector: inefficiency, fragmentation, and lack of data. The founders realize the importance of solving these long-term problems through the adoption of simple technology to get access to the data and utilize it for better standards of living. Because many public hospitals in Nigeria lack expertise in software skills, Helium Health could introduce user-friendly electronic medical records (EMRs) to eradicate this problem
