Summary |
"Still Doing It takes an intimate look at the sexuality of women over 65. Nine women, partnered, single, straight, gay, black and white, aged 65 to 87, express with humour and startling honesty how they feel about themselves, sex and love in later life, and the poignant realities of ageing. Outspoken for their generation, these women mark the beginning of a sea tide of change. Women over 65 are already the fastest growing segment of the population and when the baby boomers begin to turn 65 in 2011 their numbers will swell. Although the media has begun to hail the sexuality of the "older woman"but, the fact that most of this coverage is about women in their 40s and 50s is evidence that the idea of much older women being sexual is still seen as somehow unacceptable, even taboo. How can we as a society continue to remain so obsessed with youth, marginalising so many of us? Still Doing It follows the lives of these women and the politics around ageing with surprising and revelatory results."--website |
