Seattle mayor Ed Murray had formed an Income Inequality Advisory Committee, a group of two dozen diverse stakeholders across the city, for the purpose of negotiating a deal to raise the minimum wage to $15 dollars an hour. Though he came close to finalizing a deal, it fell apart the night before a press conference was scheduled to announce a victory.
