Summary |
This milli milli (book) is an opportunity for us to take you on a journey through an ancient, sacred and dangerous land called Murujuga (Hipbone Sticking Out). This is a journey through time, across land and water, from the spirits of our Ancestors long ago when the world was soft, over thousands of generations of Ngarda-Ngarli (Aboriginal people of this area). We watched the rising of the seas and the formation of islands, enjoyed times of peace and endured times of upheaval, tragedy, bloodshed and a very long fight. With all its twists and turns this journey has inspired many. With passion, love and determination it brings us all to now, to this place, Murujuga. The book is for all of our people, for our partners and stakeholders and for everyone who has interests and responsibilities in Murujuga. We are Ngarda-Ngarli, the aboriginal people of this Country, and today as always we are caring for Murujuga. This is what we have to do, it is a responsibility we inherit from our Ancestors and bequeath to our children |
