Summary This is a ten-part journey into the labyrinth of mysterious souks and the colour, culture and customs of two of the most intriguing countries in the Islamic world. Following on from the success of his first series; Feast India, English-born Chef Barry Vera gets to the heart of Moroccan and Syrian cuisine, and on the way discovers much more. In tonight's episode, Barry travels to Damascus and discovers a labyrinth of religious history and intrigue. He shows us where you can find John the Baptists head, the tomb of Adam and Eve's son and a window where a saint escaped in a basket. Barry is transported to another time when the West was waking from a dark age and in the smoke from a water pipe the tales of the Hakawati (storyteller) come to life. (From Australia, in English) (Part 7)
