Summary This is a collection of writings of Professor Abdus Salam, Nobel Laureate of Physics, 1979. The writings touch on many different themes, and discuss the social and economic dimensions of science. Difficulties faced by scientists in developing countries and their solutions are also given some insightful analysis. There are also interesting accounts of the International Centre for Theroetical Physics, Trieste, Italy that Professor Salam founded, and science in Islamic nations
