This book results from a workshop held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in November 2002. The workshop was the outcome of two ACIAR projects: "A survey of the presence and importance of Phytophthora in Southeast Asia", led by André Drenth ; and "Management of Phytophthora diseases in durian", led by David Guest, Somsiri Sangchote and Nguyen Minh Chau. The workshop was also part of the First International Conference on Tropical and Subtropical Plant Diseases
