Summary Margaret Thatcher was Great Britain's first and only female prime minister, elected three times and in power for almost 11 years. She was one of the most admired and most reviled contemporary political figures of the day. To some, she would always be the enemy who crushed British society, to others she was the Iron Lady who modernised the economy through privatisation and radical reforms. But the policies of the time had a disastrous impact on the social welfare system. Her fate was played out in London over three days, from November 19 to 21, 1990. From the preparation of her demise to her political downfall, toppled by her own ministers, secretaries of state, political advisors, campaign managers and cabinet secretary. They were all members of her own Party - the Conservative Party. Some called it a lynching, others a suicide. Her daughter Carol wrote that her mother had been the victim of an "assassination". Thatcher herself said, "I will never forget. And I will never forgive them!"Told by the conspirators themselves, this is the incredible story of the final days in power of Margaret Thatcher.
