Summary This dataset presents a case study highlighting the execution of thematic analysis of in-depth interview transcripts in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The approach is designed to engage graduate students in hands-on learning of thematic analysis using datasets collated from in-depth interviews. The data were collected by Dr. Daniel Yaw Fiaveh of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and is based on in-depth, face-to-face interviews in an urban community in Accra, Ghana. The presented case study was aimed at understanding sexuality in Sub-Saharan Africa, by interrogating how women and men construct sexual pleasure in Ghana. Emphasis is focused on how narratives of sexuality can be qualitatively analyzed using a complex blend of manual approaches to develop variables/codes that provide evidence to contest notions of the repressed sexuality of women in Africa. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide
