Summary |
"This documentary focuses on the rapper, poet, activist, actor, dancer and gangster whose life ended abruptly in 1996 when he was gunned down at the age of 25. This film features photos, footage and audio from offstage, in concert, on film sets and from Shakur's private life. They trace Shakur's journey from idealistic youth to best-selling artist. The program includes footage of a 17-year-old Shakur, son of political activists, expressing his commitment to bringing about social change. The program also includes new interviews featuring fellow rap stars The Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, Davey D, Grand Puba, Naughty by Nature's Treach and Shock-G of Digital Underground, plus Marion 'Suge' Knight, manager Leila Steinberg, producer Johnny J, Black Panthers co-founder David Hilliard, producer Quincy Jones and Shakur's friends and family.
