Summary |
Chanee's work with gibbons is progressing well - in the local town of Palankaraya, the illegal animal market has now ceased and Radio Kalaweit is the most popular radio station in Kalimantan.Building on his local success, Chanee is now busy spreading his conservation message across Indonesia. Almost 1000 miles away, off the west coast of Sumatra, is the island of Marak - a tropical paradise with a lush, untouched jungle interior - the perfect site for Chanee's second gibbon rescue centre. Here he is trying to save 100 siamangs, the largest of the gibbon species. But just as Chanee arrives on the island, six of the resident siamangs have escaped and he must recapture them before these fiercely territorial apes tear each other apart.PRODUCTION DETAILS:A BBC production. Executive producer: Mike Birkhead |
