Chanee's work with gibbons is progressing well - in the local town of Palankaraya, the illegal animal market has now ceased and Radio Kalaweit is the most popular radio station in Kalimantan.Building on his local success, Chanee is now busy spreading his conservation message across Indonesia. Almost 1000 miles away, off the west coast of Sumatra, is the island of Marak - a tropical paradise with a lush, untouched jungle interior - the perfect site for Chanee's second gibbon rescue centre.Here he is trying to save 100 siamangs, the largest of the gibbon species.
