Summary The project investigated the impact of stresses, both natural and imposed on aquatic invertebrates in Dandenong Creek and Darebin Creek, two Melbourne streams drastically affected by residential development. Results indicated that the invertebrates were adversely affected by poor water quality, and habitat modifications such as stream straightening and flow regulation
