Summary A 1994 survey of Australian universities found that 15 Australian universities had conducted overseas teaching practicums in the previous five years, principally in Asia. The purpose of this book is to illustrate something of the diversity of these programs and provide a forum for discussion of the value of the programs and reflect on the implications. The findings of the of the national survey are summarised and case studies are presented which illustrate the diversity of these programs, and highlight key issues in the organisation, implementation and evaluation of such programs.
