"For 40 years, Jane Elliott has staged her radical 'exercise' in tackling racism all over the world. Now, she's undertaking it for what she says will be the last time on a grand scale. And she's chosen to do it in the UK. In a disused warehouse in London, 30 volunteers have agreed to take part in 'a psychological exercise'. What they don't know is it confronts racism and it has ignited controversy all over the world. For one long day, they are exposed to the extreme methods and beliefs of Jane Elliott. This retired American school teacher has devised an approach that has inflamed passions and divided opinion for 40 years. Calling herself 'The Bitch' she will cajole, manipulate and bully the volunteers to create an apartheid style regime. But it will not be based on the colour of their skin but on the colour of their eyes. Jane Elliott famously devised her 'exercise' in 1968 for her eight-year-old pupils in response to the assassination of Martin Luther King. Dividing her class into 2 groups - Brown Eyes and Blue Eyes - she encouraged one group to dominate the other. What followed convinced her she'd found a way to powerfully demonstrate just how irrational and unfair it is to judge someone on the colour of their skin.
