Summary |
Charles Richard Long (1860-1944) was a teacher, inspector of schools and a teacher-trainer. He completed his teaching training in 1881, and graduated from the University of Melbourne with a BA in 1887 and a MA in 1889. He published the School Paper and numerous textbooks and school readers and served on the Royal Commission on technical education in 1899-1901. He married Louisa Michel, a teacher, in 1886. They had eight children and Louisa died in 1905. He then married Margaret Willard (also a teacher) in 1908, and they had two children. This collection contains documents from Charles Long's teaching career, including his Licence to teach, his teaching certificates in various subjects and his BA and MA. It also contains the teaching certificates and licences of both his wives |
