Summary "No amount of drinking, drugs and partying was enough for flamboyant Maori scaffolder "Ugly" Dave Dekama. When cancer takes him in his early 60s, Maori funeral home boss John Williams arranges his funeral. Meanwhile at the funeral home, veteran undertaker and father of nine John Gardener gets the short straw: he must build a baby's coffin and arrange the funeral. As the undertakers prepare to take Dave Dekama to be cremated, his daughter Vanessa demands that she be allowed to take him back to New Zealand with her. A battle between Dave's two Australian partners and his daughter ensues. John Williams reveals his own recent brush with death, and the choice he was forced to make over which side of the Tasman his dead body belongs. The fate of both men is in doubt to the end." -- ABC website
