*Coarse Language* Filmed over a four year period, Barefoot In Ethiopia, by filmmaker Sieh Mchawala follows gutsy Australian Kyra Glasby and her brother Aidan as they attempt to start their own aid organisation in the Afar region of northern Ethiopia, dubbed by National Geographic as 'the hottest, driest, inhabited place on earth'. Having already raised $12,000 to set up a health clinic - Kyra had been a second year trainee nurse - they decide to take their commitment to the community to another level. And rebelling against the aid machine, Kyra wants to do things her own way. Barefoot In Ethiopia follows their struggles with the reality of the task ahead of them. Kyra wants to genuinely connect with the community and Aidan wants to give it a crack, "We are young and a bit frivolous, but that's all part of the learning curve..." They get their first wakeup call when half the fund money they have raised is stolen from the grass hut they had left it in. Devastated, the duo agrees between them to save up to pay the money back.
