| Summary |
This week's program is about a woman who transfixed a nation with her story of courage and humanity. She's Sabina Wolanski and when she addressed a gathering of state dignitaries in Berlin in 2005, she received a standing ovation and reduced journalists to tears. Mrs Wolanski was left alone in the world at the age of seventeen when her family were killed in the Holocaust. She forged a successful business and fashion career in Australia but nearly seventy years later she claimed a place in history when she spoke in Berlin.Against all the odds she recently had an emotional meeting with the 97 year old German industrialist Berthold Beitz, the 'good German' credited with helping to save many Jewish lives, including that of Sabina herself |
