Summary |
Galeno is one of the most important and productive Brazilian artists working today. He's had many exhibitions in Brazil and Europe and won several prestigious awards such as the Acquisition Prize. Paintings, drawings, engravings, frescos, sculptures, and installations -- Galeno does it all. Influenced by Brazilian Constructivism and Neo-Concrete movements, the artist creates his "own pure and colorful geometry" constantly fluctuating between figurative and abstract elements in an interpretive exercise. Through his amazing and quite unique treatment of color and sophisticated compositions, Galeno establishes a rhythm and constructs a vibrant universe. In the film, GALENO, A CRAFTY BOY, we move between the complex and the simple, between the popular and the erudite. The Brazilian art of Galeno is revealed in a journey at Parnaiba's Delta (Brazil) and Brasilia - the source of inspiration for his creations |
