Originally recorded by local photographer, Alex Wilkins for home entertainment much of this film footage has become valuable documentation of public events, such as the celebrations of the end of the Second World War and the courtesy visit of HMAS Warrnambool to the town in 1945, the Warrnambool centenary celebrations in 1947 etc. Also includes scenic photography of the Hopkins River from 1947, Warrnambool Botanic Gardens in the 1940s and other scenic views from the district |
