The last half of the nineteenth century was rich in decorative architectural styles, originating in Britain. We trace the roots of the Queen Anne, Italianate and Gothic Revival styles in Britain and visit a historic home built during the time Canada was born as well as a new home built in Western Canada that reflects the continuing influence of Victorian architecture
