Summary As a geographer, Stéphane Rosière sheds essential light on the eminently spatial disciplines of political geography and geopolitics. He presents them in a completely original way as distinct knowledge, but forming, together, a coherent whole. Political geography is the study of the "political framework" which is made up of territories of lines - borders and networks - and of structuring poles. This discipline, too marginal in France, is especially developed in the Anglo-Saxon countries. Knowledge of the political framework is however necessary for any geopolitical reasoning. Geopolitics is the study of space considered as "stake". As such, it therefore implies knowledge of the actors, their territorial representations, their spatial practices, and their motivations. The purpose of this book is therefore to present the essentials of the operational concepts for carrying out political geography or geopolitical analyzes. It thus aims to be a real "grammar" of the political space by proposing clear and rigorous definitions, and a coherent methodology for these two disciplines. This approach seems necessary when researchers and citizens are confronted with an unpacific globalization, a fragmented world full of tensions. Indeed, understanding the world also requires a good knowledge of this geographic knowledge
