The National Deaths in Custody Program (NDICP) is a unique, Australian mechanism for monitoring the extent and nature of deaths in police, prison and juvenile custody. The NDICP was established in response to a recommendation by the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. It is administered by the Australian Institute of Criminology.The NDICP records information on all deaths in custody in Australia since 1980.
