| Summary |
Bollywood Star is a four-part series that brings a taste of Bollywood to Australia with a brand new talent quest, with a twist. It follows the search for an Australian Bollywood star: an unknown who will go on to win the prize of a lifetime - a part in a Bollywood film.Pressure mounts as the top four go through to the last stage of the competition. After a final acting master class with director Nupur Asthana, and a mini-makeover, they have surprise meeting with Bollywood megastar John Abraham. In an attempt to better understand their future audience, the four finalists spend their weekend immersed in the lives of two typical Indian families. Paired up, two contestants stay with a family who live deep in the Dharavi slums in central Mumbai, while the other two live with a family in Chembur, 45 minutes out of the city.Finally, the four face legendary director Mahesh Bhatt, who ultimately makes the life-changing decision: he selects the final winner to appear in his next movie and become a Bollywood star.
