Then a massive tsunami swept the north-eastern coast. And finally, that wave caused a huge meltdown at one of Japan's nuclear power stations.Together, these events killed nearly 16,000 people and displaced millions from their homes.Leah from BBC's Newsround travelled there to find out how the kids of Japan have recovered in the years since.
