Summary |
In 2004 Kevin McCloud watched with horror as Denise and c set about transforming a concrete water tower at the bottom of their garden in Ashford into an avant-garde contemporary home.At the time Kevin described the tower as an ugly brute of a building. Still, Bruno and Denise loved it so much they sold their picturesque Victorian gamekeeper's cottage and moved into two caravans - one for them and one for their dogs. The plan was to convert the tower into a home of steel and glass and have enough cash left over to allow Bruno to take early retirement. But when the price of steel suddenly rose the project quickly swallowed up their budget and Bruno's retirement plans were put on hold.Five years after his last visit, Kevin returns to see if life in the concrete tower suits Bruno and Denise, and if Bruno is still working to pay for it.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Written and Presented by Kevin McCloud.
