Summary |
June, 1945. Auschwitz survivor Nelly, badly injured and with her face destroyed, returns to her hometown of Berlin. Having barely recovered from facial surgery, Nelly sets out to find her husband, Johnny, the love of her life. When Nelly finally tracks him down, Johnny fails to recognise her. Hoping to secure her family's inheritance, Johnny suggests to Nelly that she take on the identity of his late wife - without realising it is Nelly herself |
