Summary |
"This thesis provides a greater understanding for the role of exercise training during energy restriction for women with clinically severe obesity. The benefits of exercise training evolved during the three to six month period of observation... In women with clinically severe obesity, 250 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity aerobic and resistance exercise training combined with energy restriction facilitated fat mass loss and protected against lean mass loss. Additionally, exercise training resulted in clinically meaningful improvements in fitness, physical function, and markers of cardiometabolic disease." -- from Abstract |
