Cyclones are a fact of life throughout tropical Australia. They are multi-hazard, bringing extreme winds, floods, violent seas and storm surges. This program shows how to prepare your family and property, how to access information and warnings as the cyclone is nearing your area and what to do once the cyclone has arrived.Hazards, Disasters and Survival is a series of six programs co-produced by the ABC and Emergency Management Australia. They look at steps that can be taken to limit the impact of natural hazards on communities. Each program examines a different natural hazard and provides practical advice for all Australians on what they can do to prepare so these hazards are less likely to cause disasters |
