The annual Inside Film Awards - IF Awards are the people's choice of film awards where a nation-wide audience of Australian film-goers is polled, enabling the fans to rate the flicks. The broadcast comes from Lunar Park, Sydney and will be hosted by Eddie Perfect known most recently for his lead role in Shane Warne the Musical. It's been a huge year for Australian film with Balibo, Cedar Boys and Samson and Delilah up for Best Film; and others such as Beautiful Kate, Blessed and My Year Without Sex also up for gongs. Young newcomers Rowan McNamara and Marissa Gibson find themselves up against luminaries Anthony LaPaglia, Hugo Weaving, Frances O'Conner and Sasha Horler in the Best Actor/Actress categories.Samson and Delilah gets another nod with Warwick Thornton up against Rachel Ward (Beautiful Kate) and Adam Elliot (Mary and Max) for Best Director.First conducted in 1999, past guests and presenters include: Nicole Kidman, Laurence Fishburne, Baz Luhrmann, Toni Collette, Geoffrey Rush, Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Stephen Fry, Eric Bana, Claudia Karvan, Vince Colosimo, David Wenham, Susie Porter, Emily Browning, Andrew Upton, Bryan Brown, Sigrid Thornton, Malcolm McDowell and Simon Baker. Previous hosts: Joel Edgerton, Libbi Gorr, Deborah Mailman, Sarah Wynter, John Safran and Julia Zemiro. Throughout the year audiences across Australia register their scores on score sheets distributed at film festivals and screenings or via the IF Awards website.
