Summary JUDGEMENT DAY?With the Royal Commission into child sex abuse at institutions in Australia to begin soon, Tuesday's Dateline looks at the experience of Ireland, which is the only other country to have held a national inquiry. Evan Williams hears some of the very personal and distressing stories of abuse in Catholic institutions, with most victims deeply affected into adulthood. The Irish inquiry was overwhelmed by the number of people that came forward, so some felt they couldn't tell their full story. Evan also looks at why no criminal prosecutions against the attackers have followed, with complicated legal issues hanging over the whole process. It's left some victims feeling ignored and still unable to find justice. So what are the lessons that Australia can learn? And will victims here finally feel their voices are being heard?GUN CHICIn the United States, there are now almost as many gun stores as there are pharmacies, and the marketing used by both is becoming surprisingly similar. Women are now a key market for gun sellers, with weapons being sold in fashionable designs and with a range of stylish accessories. Emotive adverts are being used to even encourage children to have their own guns... pink ones for girls, and blue ones for boys. On Tuesday's Dateline, meet some of the women who can't live without their guns. One has pistols concealed in every part of her house in case she should have to confront an intruder. But while some see it as women empowering themselves, others say it's a worrying trend. With gun control once again at the top of the political agenda, the 17 million women who now own guns in the US are set to have an increasingly loud voice in the debate. THE MASTERCHEF OF MOGADISHUOn Tuesday's Dateline, Aidan Hartley meets an extraordinary man, who's become a symbol of Somalia's struggle to rebuild from its civil war. Ahmed Jama fled Somalia as a boy and made his home in the UK, where he trained as a chef and opened a successful restaurant. Now he's cooking for the people of Mogadishu with four restaurants... a symbolic part of trying to bring normal life back to the ruined streets, but his high profile is a double edged sword. Al Shabaab insurgents fighting for extremist Islamic rule targeted one of his restaurants, killing 20 people in a shooting and suicide bomb attack. Can Ahmed's restaurant rise again after such a horrific experience? And if it does, will people be too scared to return?
