Summary The streets and alleys of the harbour-side city of Naples are home to a notorious street-gang. A gang of the four-legged variety. Napoli Dogs is a tale of survival and friendship, love affairs and raids.Narrated by the gang's former leader old Gennaro, the Napoli Dogs is made up of a diverse cast of characters and include the best nose in the gang, Terroni, Malocchio with his evil eye, Partenope who is queen of rubbish bins, charmingly sweet Chiara, wily Leopardi, the thief on silent paws, and Capo, the boss of the gang. Finally there's Bartolo, the green-horn of the pack. The gang is known all around Naples and feared by some. When it comes to staking out their territory, the Napoli Dogs can be a tough and unforgiving bunch. The perseverance of the male members of the gang can be somewhat upsetting for the owners of any well-groomed female of the species.Food, or the lack of it, is an ongoing problem but solutions can be found. Compassionate restaurant guests offer titbits to the clever gang members while the back streets offer rich pickings late at night. Danger, however, lurks in the alleyways. And a dog needs to keep his wits about him if he doesn't want to loose his two most precious possessions!Filmed from a dog's perspective, Napoli Dogs reveals the survival strategies and rituals of the members of the pack. While interspersed throughout the program are insights into how the city handles its canine population. (From Austria, in English) (Documentary)
