Summary |
Eiko and Koma - Archaic Landscapes and The Power of Stillness: Japanese born and American based artists Eiko and Koma are masters of their own unique form of dance-theater. Eiko and Koma dance about what matters to them. Their subjects are elemental; their message pitiless yet humanistic. Both their choreography and stagecraft are characterized by bold, highly theatrical strokes and offers an organic, conceptual environment on the stage. The result is stark, infused with a relentless stillness that subverts and transcends our everyday notions of time and space. This program features a complete performance of their 2008 work "Ĺ“Hunger" which was recorded at the Joyce Theater in New York City and a revealing interview with the artists |
