Summary A special investigation into entrenched racism and organised violence among football supporters in the Euro 2012 host countries of Poland and Ukraine and, as the multi-billion dollar election campaigns get under way, Dateline asks why so many Americans are still living in such poverty.STADIUMS OF HATEThe Euro 2012 tournament is supposed to represent a united European family of football, but nothing could be further from the thoughts of some fans in the host countries of Poland and Ukraine. As the matches get underway, Tuesday's Dateline includes a special investigation by the BBC's Panorama into entrenched racism and organised violence among football supporters in both countries. Chris Rogers sees first-hand the Nazi worship and anti-semitism at matches and in local communities, hears black players being targeted as 'monkeys', and witnesses Indian fans being attacked on the terraces while officials look on. One senior Ukrainian policeman even insists that what appears to be a Nazi salute is in fact friendly fans pointing at their opponents. The tournament organiser, UEFA, says it has zero tolerance of racism and defends its choice of host nations, but it's coming under increased scrutiny about its decision and whether it can ensure the safety of visiting teams and their supporters.AMERICA'S SHAMEBarack Obama was elected United States President on the promise of putting ordinary Americans first, but as the multi-billion dollar election campaigns get under way, it seems the gap between rich and poor has never been greater. On Tuesday's Dateline, Hillary Andersson meets some of America's underclass, who are struggling to even stay alive. From the dark storm drains underneath the bright lights of Las Vegas, to the tent cities for the homeless outside Detroit, people say they have nowhere else to turn. Elsewhere, children are going hungry and serious medical conditions are being left untreated, as distraught families say the world's richest country is failing to care for them in their time of need
