Description 1 online resource (16 minutes) Summary Supernumeraries captures the experience of a group of beginning dancers who volunteered to be supers (extras) in the Portland Opera's production of Der Freischultz in November 1974. The wearing of androgynous costumes profoundly impacted all of the participants. Sandy Wall Smith, one of the dancers, was inspired to document the experience and wishes to thank the Portland Opera for allowing her to share this almost forgotten 1974 film in 2021.
