Summary |
The Commonwealth convened the Forum with the aim of identifying the challenges facing nursing into the future, and helping to facilitate some appropriate responses. The Forum was attended by representatives of the nursing workforce, employers, educators, and regulators. Proceedings will be presented to AHMAC and Health Ministers. The Forum recognised that the challenges facing nursing should be viewed within the context of the broader health system and moves to focus it more on the needs of consumers. The way health care is delivered is likely to continue to undergo rapid change in response to the ongoing tension between the need to control costs and increasing demand fuelled by rising consumer expectations, new technologies, and an ageing population |
