Summary |
First-time director Miraz Bezar presents a raw and confronting story set in Diyarbakir, Turkey in the 1990s. Ten-year-old Gulistan and her younger brother Firat are normal, happy-go-lucky kids until they witness the murder of their journalist father and mother by a secret paramilitary force. After their caretaker auntie also disappears in mysterious circumstances, the children are left to fend for themselves on the tough streets of one of Turkey's most dangerous cities. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2009 Ghent International Film Festival |
