The ability to think creatively and flexibly is key to preparing our children for a future world we cannot predict. However, there are grave concerns that creativity is declining, with the finger of blame pointing to how children are spending their time both in and out of school.In this episode we will test how creative our Life children are as they approach a known tipping point in creativity levels. Scientists around the world recognise the 'fourth grade slump' - an age when creativity declines as children become less spontaneous, more fearful of risk and more inclined towards conformity.Creativity may seem to be abstract, but it has in fact been measured for decades. Dr David Cropley, a leader in the field of innovation and creativity, takes our children through a series of creative exercises in the Life Lab and the results are astounding.
