Summary |
The Paralympic Games, the ultimate international competition for physically challenged athletes, has grown to become one of largest major international multi-sport events. Winter and Summer Paralympic Games always follow their respective Olympic Games. You can imagine it is quite a dream to constantly practice and train to hopefully be able to compete one day at the Paralympics. This special documentary is about one of those special people. Joyce Luncher is an inspiration to all who know or meet her. Joyce is a physically challenged athlete, who, despite having the use of only one arm, is determined to be a successful swimmer. Her story, told by her coach, her parents, other competitors and Joyce herself, follows Joyce's remarkable adventure from her first win on her college varsity swim team to a five-medal-winning performance at the Atlanta Paralympics. It is a story told to inspire not only other physically challenged people, but also to encourage all of us who face challenges life presents us |
